Andrzej Urbanowicz. Splendor Solis 1999/2000

Andrzej Urbanowicz does not follow in this tradition of modern art which is preoccupied with a search for form. His artworks are not a result of an analysis performed according to the principles applied to abstract colour, form and material codification, their mutual dependencies and contaminations. He wants a picture to be imbued in memory as something much deeper than a set of certain forms or particular compositions, so that, consequently, a painting would not limit its meaning to the 'outside layer', but instead it would express various frames of mind and emotions, and convey diverse ideas.
The publication contains texts by Henryk Waniek, Marek Meschnik and an article entitled “Okazanie”. Also included are a timeline, list of exibitions and bibliography.
